AFG LAW and COVID-19

Tuesday March 17, 2020

Everyone is aware of the global effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and we are following daily developments closely whilst prioritising the health and wellbeing of our employees, colleagues and families. As a business we have decided to remain open as usual but are encouraging clients to contact us by phone, email or other channels instead of attending appointments in person.

For the foreseeable future we have also cancelled our free legal drop in and grandparents clinics (weekly in Bolton and monthly in Bury) but those wishing to seek advice can contact us quoting the clinic and we will do our best to help by phone. Call 01204 377600.

We have robust contingency plans in place to ensure that client work will be able to continue with minimal disruption. Our response plan has been put in place to ensure we are able to continue to operate at a high standard whilst protecting our employees and clients.

As a priority, we have decided to put several measures in place to protect the health of our employees and their families, including restricting client visits and immediate self-isolation for anybody feeling unwell or showing symptoms.

As part of our business continuity plan our directors have made it possible for staff to operate remotely if required. They can be contacted via email or phone in the normal way. We maintain where possible a paperless environment so all client files which are held electronically can be accessed remotely.

We are currently continuing to have face to face meetings where necessary but are liaising with the Courts and following government guidelines and will continue to do so. However, we are encouraging clients to use other methods of communication.

In respect of our business clients and suppliers, our directors and staff will also adhere to your guidance and measures when dealing with your staff.

We are advising staff and visitors who are suffering symptoms described in the latest NHS guidance, they should stay at home so we can minimise the risk of any infection to others.

We have hand sanitisers available at our offices and also have hand washing facilities available to staff and visitors to maintain the highest hygiene standards whilst on our premises.

Your co-operation and understanding is very much appreciated during this time and we will continue to monitor the situation closely and do our best to minimise disruption to our staff and clients at AFG LAW.
