AFG Law’s Head of Residential Property and Director is celebrating 30 years with the firm this month, having joined the company as a junior post clerk in 1996.
In the beginning, Carl’s journey with AFG Law almost never began! Initially turned down following his first interview, he was later delighted to receive a call offering him the role when the successful candidate decided to pursue a different path. Thirty years on, it’s fair to say we are glad he answered the call.
Carl quickly immersed himself in the role, completing his Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ Diplomas in Business Administration as part of a day release apprenticeship, before being encouraged by colleagues to pursue the legal executive route. He went on to study at the Manchester College of Arts and Technology through the Institute of Legal Executives, becoming a member and then a Fellow of ILEX (now CILEX) on 1/1/2006.
Carl has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to the growth and success of AFG Law, progressing through the firm before being appointed the Head of the Residential Property Department in 2013. He later went on to become a director in 2017 and a shareholder in 2019.
Carl comments, “AFG Law has been a large part of my life and certainly my working life. I have seen the company grow and adapt through many changes, making it the firm that it is today. I still enjoy coming to work, helping clients and engaging with my fabulous colleagues – long may that continue”.
Carl has played a key role in shaping AFG Law’s technology strategy over the years, helping to modernise systems and streamline processes to deliver a more efficient approach. This work has directly contributed to our commitment to combining forward-thinking with traditional values, ensuring our clients continue to receive the highest standards of service, protection and care.
He has built an enviable reputation across the local conveyancing sector, backed by more than 30 years of delivering client-focused excellence. Well-known for his trusted advice, extensive expertise and client relationships, he brings a wealth of trust and experience to every transaction.
Beyond his professional life, Carl is also passionate supporter of the community. He has mentored for Bolton Lads and Girls club, has volunteered as a boarder for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, and currently coaches his son’s football team.
