After Hours at AFG LAW

What can go wrong at your Christmas Party? It’s just a bit of fun, right?

Or indeed anytime! However, Christmas festivities sometimes bring the worst out in people and we have Richard Veni, a Barrister from Bank House Chambers in Sheffield, coming over to Bury and sharing his thoughts on a whole range of scenarios including those below.

Richard joined chambers having been a fully qualified duty solicitor and solicitor advocate and obtained his Higher Rights of Audience in 2011. He is a seasoned practitioner with significant experience in all areas of criminal proceedings and his experience as a solicitor means that he has personal knowledge of every stage of a prosecution from the initial police station call to the conclusion of a case in Court.

At our After Hours event, Richard will cover what you should do if:

A member of staff is extremely drunk and behaving inappropriately at your Christmas party

A member of staff is hit on by a co-worker or a boss

You want to sack somebody due to their behaviour

You find drugs are being taken at your office party

One or more of your team get involved in a fight

Offensive comments or gripes are aired and escalate into a showdown

You get complaints from staff following the event

These very serious matters will be discussed with humour and from an employer’s perspective.
