The Coronavirus pandemic is causing difficulties for people living in abusive households all over the country. The Government has recently launched a campaign #youarenotalone and we felt it was important to clarify that we are here to help. Solicitors all over the country are still able to help victims of abuse, legal aid is still available and courts are still dealing with domestic abuse applications urgently.
If you need help from one of our solicitors in relation to domestic violence we are able to make urgent applications and can offer appointments in English, Urdu and Gujarati. The Legal Aid Agency have relaxed some of their rules about providing evidence and signing the application forms to take into account the Coronavirus restrictions. Our solicitors can give you more information and guide you through this process.
We know a lot of people are worried that they won’t be able to get help from the Court but urgent applications are still being dealt with even if it means hearings are taking place by telephone or video. Our solicitors have all the technology to be able to undertake remote appointments and hearings.
Please give us a call if you want to see how we can help you on 01204 377600 or email familydepartment@afglaw.co.uk
