Our Dispute Resolution department, led by experienced solicitor Stephen Ormesher, will now be offering a fixed-fee service for setting aside County Court Judgments (CCJs). This new service is aimed at those who check their credit rating and find they have an unpaid CCJ that they were not previously aware of. The service will include the reviewing of documents and making an application to set aside the CCJ including a witness statement on the client’s behalf.
CCJs can have significant impact on a person’s credit rating, financial stability, and future borrowing. With some of these judgments being entered without the individual’s knowledge, AFG Law’s new service provides individuals with swift, expert support at a transparent cost.
Stephen Ormesher, department head and initiator of this new fixed-fee service said, ‘our aim for this new service is to make the process of applying to set aside a CCJ as straight-forward, stress- free and efficient as possible. Our fixed-fee service will ensure clients receive clear guidance from the outside, with no uncertainty around the legal fees involved.’
The fee for this service is £450 + VAT and disbursements of £313 (subject to review of papers, complexity and Court fees) per CCJ set aside application.
In order for this service to be a fixed fee, clients will be asked to provide as much information as possible to assist the team.
There are several reasons why a CCJ may be able to set aside –
- If you moved houses around the time that you obtained the CCJ.
- If you never received paperwork.
- If you have a valid defence to the CCJ.
This new service offering aligns with AFG Law’s commitment to delivering tailored, specialist legal support, combining the firm’s long-standing heritage with modern, client-focused solutions.
