Calling Landlords – Seminar: How to Prevent future Problems

PLANNING AHEAD – a seminar for landlords.

AFG LAW are pleased to be working with the North West Landlords Association to help provide advice and assistance to landlords who are new to the world of letting properties.

Landlord and Tenant disputes can be a legal minefield. What often appear to be straightforward issues are usually anything but, with even the most experienced landlords and letting agents getting caught out by the various pitfalls. Don’t leave your eviction worries to chance!

Matthew Taylor from AFG LAW will be hosting a presentation on how best to protect yourself as a landlord and to maximise your chances of recovering possession of your property if difficulties arise.

What will the presentation cover?

• What a landlord must do before the tenancy starts;

• What to do whilst the tenancy is ongoing; and

• What to do before the fixed term expires.

We will cover such issues as the duty to provide certain documentation (such as gas safety certificates, Energy Performance Certificates, and so on), what a landlord must do regarding deposits, how to ensure you are able to rely on certain repossession routes, as well as dealing with instances where a tenant makes a counterclaim.

The presentation shall be taking place on Thursday 7th November 2019 at the Friends Meeting House in Bolton (50 Silverwell Street, Bolton, BL1 1PP) from 10am until 12 noon. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Please note that spaces are limited.

Please contact the NWLA at admin@northwestlandlords.com if you are interested in attending.
