Cath has been a qualified solicitor since July 2001. Throughout her career Cath has specialised in family law and, in particular, matters concerning children. In November 2006 she was appointed as a member of the Children Panel as a children representative and became a director of AFG LAW in 2013.

Cath now predominantly specialises in representing children within public and private law Children Act proceedings. As an experienced and competent advocate within her specialist field, Cath receives instructions to represent children from guardians throughout the North West.

In 2019 Cath and Emma, who is also a director at AFG LAW, became Joint Heads of the family department. During their leadership of the family department, the family team has gone from strength to strength including winning Manchester Law Society’s Family Law Firm of the Year in 2020.

Cath and Emma support and encourage the family department’s strong sense of social responsibility which has included contributing to the thousands of pounds raised by the firm through both organising and sponsorship charity events, and providing free legal advice clinics for causes and organisations which are close to the work that the department carries out.
