Head of Department – Civil Litigation / Dispute Resolution
August 15, 2018
AFG LAW is currently seeking a motivated, experienced litigator to head up its Dispute Resolution Department, with the role bringing with it the prospects of Directorship within the firm.
As head of the Dispute Resolution Department, the role will bring with it the responsibility of managing a modestly-sized, albeit ambitious, department currently comprised of three other employees. We are therefore looking for an individual with a good grasp of leadership skills and experience of people management.
As the most senior individual heading up the department, the candidate will also work with the firm’s marketing executive to help create, build and maintain new business opportunities and expand the department in the process.
Whilst the breadth of work undertaken by the department at present currently spans a wide-range of matters (including property litigation, employment, personal injury, landlord and tenant disputes, forfeiture, breaches of contract, general tort, as well as some company and insolvency work), the successful candidate will be given considerable free rein to undertake the type of legal work which they find the most interesting and enjoyable, together with the ability to take the department -as a whole- in the direction they wish to take it. There is therefore a real and proper opportunity for the candidate to leave their own mark and bring something new to the firm, given the flexibility they will be afforded in taking the department forward.
Whilst the successful candidate would ideally have at least 8-10 years’ PQE, applications are welcome from those with good litigation experience and with a solid understanding of practical litigation procedure and skills.
The role brings with it an attractive salary which may be also be negotiable depending on experience.
